Neon Indian - Future Sick (Free DL courtesy of The New Montreal)
Remember, remember, the fifth of November.
Should I start putting quotations around things I steal from @k1ll3rmaddalo?
Well in this case it’s not her quote to steal, but I digress, GUY FAWKES DAY. Let us fantasize about the possibility of a united world, not oppressed by the throes of corporate financial dominance nor the unfair burden placed upon the individual to work tirelessly for the majority of our lives. That little slice of apple pie at the end of the day, that’s the American dream after working two jobs and paying for your crippled child’s medicare costs. I must of missed that part somewhere in the 1940’-1950’s propaganda about being in debt for the rest of our natural lives, having no pension and working until our bones physiologically aren’t functional. Thus passing on the debt to our children with the added cost of our own medical bills..
All this “occupy” stuff has us all in a huff, and while i’m going to school full time and working the other hours in between i’m just glad there are people out there willing to protest. “I can’t be there, but I care”. Of course it’s a lot more complicated than rising costs of living and a crumbling economy, but undoubtedly the financial disparity is the biggest contributor to our cultural misery and oppression. Will it change without violence? I doubt it. The French had a very hard time giving a flying fuck about the peasant population until they stormed the Bastille and roasted all those mother fuckers, but at least we’re trying to be more “civil” about things. That same civility is not returned in the form of crippling middle-class tax rates and outrageous education costs. But I can only talk casually about “blowing shit up” on the internet for so long until the federali’s bust my door down and the thought police begin the water-boarding.
Wait, don’t I have a music blog?
This song is called “Future Sick”, and i’m once again borrowing from the Neon Indian album “Era Extrana”. I think it exemplifies some of my frustrations in a more artistic way, and it’s a good track for you hip-happenin’-hipsters to celebrate Guy Fawkes Day.
Peace, love, and lots of passionate lusty fucking to all.
